Braised Tofu

This is a special braised tofu recipe using soft tofu. It features a deep flavor from stir-frying savory onions and green onions, enhanced with soy sauce and oyster sauce.

What You'll Need

Tofu1 block (350g)
Onion1
Green onion1 stalk
Cheongyang chili pepper1
Red chili pepper1
Jin soy sauce2 tbsp
Oyster sauce2 tbsp
Red chili powder1 tbsp
Minced garlic1/2 tbsp
Sugar1/2 tbsp
Pepper20 twists
Water200ml
Cooking oilas needed

Instructions

Wrap the tofu in paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible, then cut it into 8 bite-sized pieces.

Slice the green onion, thinly slice the onion, and diagonally slice the Cheongyang and red chili peppers.

Place the sliced green onion and onion in a preheated pan and cook over high heat until they develop color.

Once the vegetables start to brown, add cooking oil, minced garlic, and sugar, and stir-fry.

When the vegetables soften, push them to one side, turn off the heat, add the soy sauce and oyster sauce to the empty space, and let them bubble in the residual heat.

Place the tofu in the pan, add water, and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
