Mapo Tofu Rice Bowl

What You'll Need

Tofu1 block
Minced pork200g
Onion1/2
Green onion1 stalk
Carrota small amount
Garlic3 cloves
Chivesa small amount
Cooking oil2 tbsp
Jin soy sauce2 tbsp
Cooking wine2 tbsp
Sugar1 tbsp
Oyster sauce1 tbsp
Doubanjiang2 tbsp
Starch waterappropriate amount

Instructions

Cut the tofu into fingernail-sized cubes.

Place the tofu on paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Finely mince half an onion.

Finely chop the white part of the green onion.

Finely mince the carrot.

Finely chop the chives.

Slice the garlic thinly.

Put 2 tbsp of starch in a bowl and add a little water to make a starch slurry.

Heat cooking oil in a pan, lightly coat the tofu with starch, and fry until golden brown.

Remove the golden-fried tofu from the pan.

Heat cooking oil in a pan and stir-fry the minced garlic, green onion, ginger, onion, and carrot over low heat until fragrant.

Add the minced pork and stir-fry together.

Add the onion and carrot and stir-fry.

Add 2 tbsp of Jin soy sauce.

Add 2 tbsp of cooking wine.

Add 1 tbsp of sugar.

Add about 2 cups of water to the pan and bring to a boil.

Slowly add the prepared starch slurry while stirring to achieve a thick consistency.

Add the fried tofu and stir-fry.

Turn off the heat and drizzle with sesame oil.
