Tofu Duruchigi (Spicy Tofu Stir-fry)

A spicy and rich tofu stir-fry made by boiling mashed ham and soft tofu, served with rice or somyeon (thin wheat noodles).

Beef seasoning1/2 tbsp
Cooking oil2 tbsp

Instructions

Mix 2 tbsp minced garlic, 3 tbsp jin soy sauce, 3 tbsp cooking wine, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 4 tbsp starch syrup, 2 tbsp gochujang, 3 tbsp red pepper powder, and 1/2 tbsp beef seasoning to make the sauce.

Cut the onion, green onion, Cheongyang chili peppers, and tofu into bite-sized pieces.

Remove the Spam from the can and mash it thoroughly.

Add 2 tbsp cooking oil to a pan and stir-fry the mashed Spam until golden.

Add the onion and green onion to the pan, stir-fry briefly, and spread them evenly across the bottom.

Arrange the sliced tofu neatly on top in the pan.

Spread the prepared sauce evenly over the tofu.

Pour the beef bone broth into the pan until the tofu is submerged.

Turn the heat to medium-low and boil for 10 minutes.

While the tofu is simmering, boil the somyeon in a separate pot.

Finish the tofu duruchigi by adding Cheongyang chili peppers, sesame seeds, and sesame oil, and serve with the boiled somyeon.
