Seaweed Soup (Miyeok-guk)

A seaweed soup recipe that achieves a rich and deep flavor without using meat.

What You'll Need

Dried seaweed20g
Kelp broth2 liters
Potato1 whole
Sea salt1 tbsp
Guk-ganjang (soup soy sauce)1 tbsp
Tuna fish sauce1 tbsp
Minced garlic1 tbsp

Instructions

Soak 20g of dried seaweed in water, then rinse.

Drain the soaked seaweed, cut it into long strips, and put half of it into a pot.

Pour in the kelp broth and boil for 5 minutes.

Drizzle with 2 tbsp of perilla oil and stir-fry.

Add a little more kelp broth and continue to boil.

Finely chop 1 potato on a cutting board.

Add the chopped potato, 1 tbsp minced garlic, and the remaining kelp broth to the pot and bring to a boil.

Cover with a lid and boil for another 5 minutes.
